This $6 million dollar project began in October of 2006 and included 10 inches of concrete pavement (20,000 square yards) placed throughout the entire intersection at Foothills Parkway and Arapahoe Avenue in Boulder, in addition to the construction of a 20-foot-wide pedestrian underpass beneath Arapahoe along the Bear Creek greenway trail. Other improvements included a new traffic signal and Bear Creek flood control improvements all within and adjacent to sensitive wetland and wildlife habitat.

At the start of the project, Concrete Works recommended and then worked within an accelerated schedule that effectively cut 200 calendar days out of the originally anticipated project duration of 457 days, reducing the entire length of the project to 257 days.

This city of Boulder project is funded by federal, CDOT, and city of Boulder funding.
