Work on this project will include extensive utility improvements and highway expansion work along Douglas Highway 59, from Edwards Street north to the I-90 ramps, in Gillette, Wyoming. The project began at the end of January and is broken down into several phases starting with electrical work to include the installation of conduit, the moving and resetting of all of the light poles and the installation of new traffic signals at 7 intersections along the length of the project. Pipe work also began in January with the initial work for the installation of the Lakeway Waterline (42" reinforced concrete pipe), waterline lowerings, and a new 12' x 6' box culvert which will be installed at the end of March. Concrete work including concrete paving, median work, sidewalks, and curb and gutter is expected to begin at the end of March. Old roadway removals and excavation and subsequent concrete paving will progress in phases along Douglas Highway 59 with an accelerated scheduled completion date of September 30.
