Denver CO – Reconstruction South Broadway Street (Arizona to Iowa Avenues)

This City of Denver project included the reconstruction of South Broadway Street from Iowa Avenue to Arizona Avenue included new concrete pavement, major drainage and utility upgrades, new signalization, construction of a new raised landscape median and street-scape improvements.  Street-scape improvements to South Broadway Street included a landscaped median featuring trees and native plantings, sidewalk planters, benches, and decorative street lights along the tree lined blocks.
A grand reopening celebration was held with a ribbon cutting, then Mayor John Hickenlooper, Public Works Manager Bill Vidal and Denver City Council President Chris Nevitt made remarks at the ceremony and then took the “first drive” through a banner onto the new concrete roadway. Concrete Works of Colorado’s Richard Brasher presented the officials with mementos of the project: actual pieces of trolley track taken from South Broadway Street during the reconstruction.
